Xenei.org does not require the use of any specific tools, however we do make the following recommendations based on the common usage of these tools in our development environment. Developer instructions shall be made with reference to these tools. Developers using other tools are responsible for assuring that the results of the procedures are identical.

Eclipse

As of this writing the development team uses Eclipse 2.2 however the specific version is subject to change without notice.

ANT

Ant is the designated build tool for the Xenei projects.

CVS

CVS is the version control system. Any tool that interfaces with CVS should function correctly. Ant and Eclipse both have methods for doing this.

Junit

Junit is the unit testing tool for java code.

Log4J

Log4J is the logging mechanism used in the Xenei project.
